Men are Babies?!?!???
So Jay has been sick this week and what a week it has been? Whining complaining, moaning…and that was just me! “Men are such babies when they get sick”, has been my mantra all week. Snot rags everywhere! The disgusting sounds of hacking up mucus! And the snoring….oh ny …the sounds sick people make when they sleep! It is unbelievable!
A perplexing thought popped into my head at some point this week an I want to share it you , my fellow female friends, and see what you think. First of all, Jay is the one sick but I have been the one complaining. Jay has not really said much at all about his terrible cold yet I have reminded him many times that men are babies when they get sick. Thirdly, and most enlightening, I am a big baby when Jay gets sick!
Here is my conclusion ladies, women are inherently complainers. We do not always see it as complaining, yet the ears that our words fall on hear it as complaining. In my experience, and I am speaking to myself, women do seem discontent more often than men. This is just my opinion based on my own observations of myself and women I come in contact with. What do you think? Do you see yourself as a complainer? Do you find yourself content with your hair, your house, your children, your husband, etc? How do you express that discontment?
I ‘m just wondering?!?! I think in future blogs, I will be delving into this so let me know what you think!
BTW – I have Jay’s cold now and man, can I really whine and moan now!
Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!
Just by way of introduction, I want to tell you a little about this blog. For many women, the way we see ourselves is totally dependent on our perception of how others see us. Well here is my advice – GET OVER IT!
We are unique creatures, created by a extraordinary God, who has given us unique gifts and abilities. We need to quit filtering our concept of ourselves thru the media and our mothers. We need to stop looking at other women and wishing we had what they had in materials, bodies, and relationships. We need to celebrate our uniqueness!
One of my uniqueness is that I love shoes! I believe shoes tell us alot about ourselves and can actually be a window into the person you really are. Thus the name of the blog. Shoes are unique to the individual wearing them. Someone may have the same pair of shoes but the way they wear those shoes is unique to their chosen style.
This blog will be fun, and full of real life stories of real women and the issues we all face. I want to encourage women to see themselves for who they are and to love the person God has made them. I have a dear friend, Beth McAndrews, who used this phrase once and I love it! We must learn to “be comfortable in our own skin”!
So join me in this journey of discovering how to be comfortable in your own skin! Take a look at your shoes today and tell me what you think those shoes say about you.
